PE and School Sport Funding at Kanes Hill Primary School

Background

In April 2013, the Government announced new funding of 150 million for physical education and sport.  This funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision.

Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.

Amount of Grant Received – Year 4: £ £9,610            Date: September 2016

In implementing this plan, Kanes Hill Primary School aims to provide high quality PE and sport to enable all of our learners to:

  • be committed to PE and sport
  • know and understand what they are trying to achieve
  • develop and embrace a healthy, active lifestyle
  • be confident in getting involved in PE and sport
  • develop skills and control that they need to take part in PE and sport successfully
  • be exposed to a range of competitive, creative and challenge type activities which will support lifelong participation
  • think about what they are doing and make appropriate decisions for themselves
  • show a desire to improve and excel
  • develop stamina, suppleness and strength to keep going
  • enjoy PE, school and community sport
