House Competitions

This year, every child will be competing in a number of house competitions. So far we have enjoyed the ball bounce league - where each child had to bounce and catch a ball as many times as possible in 1 minute and the dance mat league. Winners of the dance mat league can be found below.

Year R - Kayden & Cyprian

Year 1 - Elsie & Bailey

Year 2 - Kaden & Erin

Year 3 - Libby & Jessica

Year 4 - Ben & Ellie

Year 5 - Lacey & Lochlan

Year 6 - Jake & Poppy

The sessions, which were run by Solent University staff, were so exciting that even the teachers couldn't resist the temptation to take part. Things got fairly competitive but the proud winners were Mr James (KS1) and Mrs Broomfield (KS2).

Out and About

This term children from Year 3 have represented Kanes Hill competing in an athletics festival at Woodlands Secondary School and a table tennis tournament at Valentine School. Children form Year 4 were chosen to visit Cantell School, where they took part in a basketball competition.

December News

This month every child is competing in a speed stack competition - come back soon to find out who wins.

H.A.T Competitions

This week we had our first friendly football match against Hightown. All children behaved superbly and showed true sportsmanship, making it a fun event for everyone involved. It was lovely to see staff from both schools supporting from the side-lines.

Miss Brock and Mr Stacey, also took Year 1 and 2 children to Redbridge Sports Complex, where they were joined by seven other schools and coaches from Treasure Gymnastics Club.

The children had a fantastic afternoon exploring the apparatus used by elite gymnasts. To conclude the event, each school performed a short routine - our children did a fantastic job and were the only school to perform independently without adult support. A special well done to Callum, who did an amazing job leading the others through the routine.
